Le Balcon and LuKas,
A tribute to the Swedish Ballet in Paris

Two dynamic ensembles united for a Swedish-French musical spectacle at Lund University’s auditorium, kicking off the Lund Indie Chamber Festival. Curated by Lunds Kammarsolister (LuKaS), the opening concert celebrated the Swedish Ballet in Paris, featuring the renowned French ensemble Le Balcon under Maxime Pascal.

The evening began with a modern prelude from Karl Heinz Stockhausen’s opera "Freitag aus Licht," followed by standout soprano Jenny Daviet and two woodwind players, who brought the biblical Eve to life through a mesmerizing blend of music and movement.

The program continued with Hugo Alfvén's "Bergakungen," Maurice Delage’s "Poèmes hindous," Daniel Fjellström’s reimagining of Kurt Atterberg’s "Fåvitska jungfrur," and a striking performance of Cole Porter’s music from "Within the Quota." The evening concluded with a lively encore of Eric Satie’s "Je te veux," leaving the audience captivated.
